Jesus noticed two empty boats at the Water’s Edge and told his disciples to push away from shore and go out to where it is deeper to catch many fish.  Luke 5:1-4

Come as you are, whatever you believe (or don’t)

At Water’s Edge, we’re not caught up on the formalities of church, like how you dress or pray. To us, it’s all about connecting in a relevant, meaningful way to Jesus Christ, wherever you are on your spiritual journey. We take it personally, so prepare to be inspired with music, video, and lively messages about issues that impact all of us every day.

Our goal is to stay on your mind and in your heart long after our hour together has ended.

Water's Edge UMC Living as an Acts 2 Church

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord's Supper), and to prayer.   A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.  And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.  They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord's Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. (Acts 2:42-47)

Relevant teaching

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching Acts 2:42.

There is one thing we can be sure of when it comes to the apostle’s teaching - It was life changing!  It was relevant!  It was sound teaching.  At Water’s Edge we offer practical teachings, where Biblical truths challenge us in our everyday lives.

 Sharing life together

And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. Acts 2:44

Water’s Edge creates environments which foster social interactions and brings people together in significant and personal ways.  Our hope is that no one stands alone at Water’s Edge.  We are a church with a focus on community.   As followers of Christ we realize our need to be linked with other believers for the purposes of growth, support, accountability and care.

Outrageous generosity

They gave to anyone as he had need.  Acts 2:45

The generosity of the early church was over the top.  We understand that as followers of Jesus we are to be responsible with all that God give us; prayers, time, gifts and resources.  We recognize that regular financial giving and a willingness to share in ministry with those outside the walls of the local church are the responsibility of every believer.

One church, many locations.

Every day they continued to meet together.  Acts 2:46.

Water’s Edge is a church without walls.  Our roots began at Faith Community UMC in West Chester and then expanded to the greater Mason area.  Worship is in one location on Duke Boulevard in Mason, but many groups meet around the community in homes, businesses, and even the local burger restaurant.

Genuine love for another

They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.   Acts 2:46.

No pretense.  No show.  No expectations. We are real with one another.  Water’s Edge is a community where people are cared for.

Continual reproduction

The Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:47.

Water's Edge believes each has much to offer the Body of Christ.  We expect and equip the body to join the unending journey, moving from comforted to comforter, student to teacher, recipient to giver and follower to leader, a process which is ever shifting and moving.  It is never about numbers, it is always about bringing people to Jesus.
